Ocean Drive Marina is a private, gated marina complex overlooking Corpus Christi Bay and with a view of the downtown skyline. The marina faces east with spectacular unobstructed views of sunrises and the rising moon.
The breakwater was built in 1962 and over the years has withstood several major storms. Our engineering study on the integrity of the breakwater showed the structure to be sound and useable for at least an additional 50 years. The marina itself was built in 1982 at a cost of $2 million dollars. To build a similar structure at today's costs would require an investment of several million dollars.
We are located just a short distance from where IH 37 terminates into downtown Corpus Christi. If you visit our "pictures" tab here on the website, you will notice that we are between the Holiday Inn Emerald Beach and Cole Park, facing east. Cole Park is the flagship park in Corpus Christi with activities scheduled weekly nearly year round.
The Bay is about 18 miles across and 24 miles wide, all open water with an average depth of 10 feet.
The Gulf of Mexico is about 26 miles from our entrance. We make regular regattas to Port Aransas, Rockport, Aransas Pass, and trek as far south as South Padre Island.
